Gear worthy of PvP

Gave this a bit more thought, given that the current gear available to players in the PvP shack is worthless (hats without talents that carry decent ability scores but nothing better than what one can get as normal drops).

So my idea is this, keep the hats as they are but give them all a gem slot. Then Put gems in the PvP area with their own vendor. Still require ranks to able to purchase, and still make them purchasable through scrips. This essentially allows players to choose one talent that didn't manifest on their pets, only instead of it being a pet talent gems are in wizard101 it would be an item gem. This also allows players to get higher ranks in their talents that they either couldn't reach, or had to use a specific item to get (such as a weapon that has first strike or relentless upon it).

The genius of all of this, is that since everyone has different talents on their pets and builds, and since they can only get one gem per item over time by obtaining PvP slotted gear, pirates become way more unique and diverse (especially if a gem has a pet talent not available to pirates on it such as bloodsucker).

The more players can modify and make their characters more unique, the more players enjoy the game (at least in my eyes that holds true).

If slotted equipment could be obtained in PvP through rank and scrips, then instead of simply selling gems for scrips in the same way, gem recipes for crafting individual ones cold be sold instead. Or perhaps instead of recipes, one would purchase treasure maps that one would have to do obtain such an item. If one had to do a treasure map to get such a bauble, then that bauble should be non-destructible and non-transferable as such treasure map quests would only be available to a character once. Such baubles would be equipment type specific, hat, armor, boots, maybe pets and could taken out and put into higher level items when said items become available.

Note: The slotted equipment can be quite basic, which means that one might still prefer equipment that drops in the game that have things already on them. Making items with slots and purchasable with scrip through PvP takes away from the game when said items are as good as the best items in the game and then gets a slot as well. It is best to keep such items simple and then give them a slot so there can be quite a bit of differentiation, rather than everyone being cookie cutter and ultimately boring while players dish upon those without cookie cutter builds (as they do in Wizard101).
