Change to Witch Hunter?

Last season, if a melee char with witch hunter was adjacent to an opponent with soul shroud, witch hunter would activate before soul shroud, leading to a possible epic chain.

However this season in one match, witch hunter failed to activate at all after I brought someone below half health and they used soul shroud on me. Has anyone else noticed this?

What you've experienced may be a bug. If there had been a change to how Soul Shroud impacts Witch Hunter, there would have been an announcement in the update notes.

In a good 95+% of my matches, the first scenario has been the case. I have noticed a few every so often however where shroud doesn't trigger at all when it would be expected.

I cannot say I've seen shroud active without a witch hunter preceeding it, though I have noticed periodic inconsistencies with its mechanics of activation. If your witch hunter didn't active on the immediate round before then I'm stumped aswell.

I don't think Witch Hunter should really lead to an epic chain for any class type but staffy weapon users, as it doesn't really make much sense considering it is damged based off of spooky power.

Witches aren't the only ones who can train Spooky. Even my Swashbuckler has one rank of Spooky, however I don't use Death's Bargain earring because it can break a 'Hide'.

I agree, but unfortunately, it does.

That's true, but why does an attack that does damage based off spooky power lead to a melee epic chain? That's like if ghostwail triggered burst fire.

Consider it "under review" as we speak.
