Would having both the more damage to smashy weapons and more damage to slashy weapons talents BOTH contribute to a weapon that's smashy/slashy?

That's why my Uses a Smashy/Slashy weapon. It's really useful for both Privateers and Buccaneers, my Bucc's Smashy 3 talent already gives him 20 bonus damage for Smashy weapon damage, but my Slashy 2 talent I've picked up from The Commodore gives me a bonus 8 damage for Slashy weapons, totaling up that 28 with the rest of my gear, it makes me do 196.
