He makes snide remarks from time to time as the story progresses. I'd say his promotion would be a quest one.

But heck yeah, he needs a promotion! Maybe he'll get one in the next update.

He is a main quest companion, whom everyone receives, I feel safe saying that he'll probably get a story promotion.
