Marching toward the Equinox!

It is almost time for the Equinox, and that means a new season of Spring PvP will be upon us in Pirate101! This also leaves us all wondering: What new pets will make an appearance? We can’t wait for you to see them during the last half of the month!

Besides the PvP pets, there’ll also be a new pet making its way to the Crown Shop this month. Will you be the first to take it for a walk around Bestia? Time to hit the morphing tent, pirates!

February was an interesting month, and we hope you enjoyed playing Pirate101 with us. We quested through a “lesser known love story” sidequest during KI Live, held a big Test Realm party, and introduced all of Pirate101 to a new “friendship” pet and mount for the Valentine’s Day season.

Our fourth Rogue’s Gallery spotlight on the Mooshu Five is all about the Musketeer’s FIRST firstmate, Wing Chun. Musketeers know him well, not only for being the pluckiest of the Mooshu five but also the coarsest. If you play Pirate101 to its extents, you’ll even get to help Wing Chun become a Crane Master! You know his capabilities on the Battleboard, but how in the world did he become a monk? Read on!

The son of a noodle vendor in Hamamitsu, Wing was born under an extremely odd conjunction of astrological signs, a mix of opposing forces that manifested itself as an almost limitless contrarian nature. Gruff, abrasive and almost habitually insulting, Wing Chun managed to be disowned by his family and exiled from Hamamitsu by the time he was fourteen.

He wandered MooShu, eventually becoming a monk because only the Moodhist masters had the patience and serenity to tolerate his harsh demeanor. But even his monastic brethren breathed a sigh of relief when the time came for Wing to seek enlightenment and Master Hu sent him out into the Spiral.

Leaving MooShu behind, Wing Chun learned a measure of humility in the wider worlds of the Spiral, but still could not help but annoy a Valencian sky captain, who had Wing arrested by the Armada. In the hold of that prison ship Wing would have a seemingly random encounter that would drive his destiny...

We had a short yet sweet Test Realm run on February 23rd. There wasn’t anything to test in the Test Realm . . . except the Test Realm itself! While “Stress Testing” the server hardware that the Pirate101 Test Realm operates isn’t really a “fun” thing, we decided to own the occasion and make a party out of it! You can read the announcement here.

Here are a few great pictures from the event that our faithful band of Test Realm Pirates sent in to us after the party was finished.

If you attended, you had the opportunity to claim codes for two free random CCG packs and a free heroic anchor from the Crown Shop. Most of all, you got to tell the tales of surviving tons of turrets popping up in the Skull Island Skyway. There were also some great pet sparring matches to be had as well!
