March is here and Spring is just around the corner. Its feeling was captured best by Charles Dickens when he said, “. . . when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.” We hope you enjoy the changing season.
We also hope you enjoyed February and the new Rock Crab pet that made its way to the Crown Shop! There were also a couple of great 50% off sales on Packs, Bundles, and some Valentine’s Day themed items.
Read on for a look back on the month and a few fun articles.
Rogue's Gallery: Carcarius Grimtooth
We’ve done a spotlight on ever new companion except our friend, Carcarius, so this month we turn our attention to a bullied shark that set out to learn a bit of hoodoo magic!
“Welcome to the Pirate101 Rogue’s Gallery. Subject, Carcarius Grimtooth
The greatest shamans of Skull Island’s Shark Clans come from the goblin sharks of the Grimtooth clan, and the smallest and weakest runt of that clan was a young pup called Carcarius.
Mercilessly teased and set upon by his stronger siblings, Carcarius became obsessed with fame and status. Seething with resentment, Carcarius made a vow that he would become the greatest Shaman Skull Island had ever seen. Abandoning his clan, Carcarius set out for Captain Avery’s newfound settlement and begged Madame Vadima for an apprenticeship. Despite her longstanding refusal to take apprentices, Vadima reluctantly aided the young Goblin Pup. Vadima sent the shark to study under some of the greatest witchdoctors of Skull Island: the Waponi Priestess Unga Bunga, Udu the Hoodoo Guru, and even the fearsome Troggy magician, Iki-Iki-Ptang-Zoom-Boing. Carcarius was an eager pupil and learned many secrets.
When Carcarius returned to his clan he was no longer a measly runt, but their superior in every way. Humbling his former bullies was enjoyable, but somehow not enough to sate his desires. The endless clan warfare of his people seemed futile and silly to him now... Carcarius decided to once again leave his clan, and even Skull Island if he must, to gain more knowledge and power. Approaching Vadima once more, he begged her to find him a Pirate Captain to sign on with in order to learn the secrets of the Spiral!

Books for the Cultured Pirate
There you are my Pirate friends! I’m so glad to see you again, and I have a wonderful follow-on book to share with you. Back in September 2014 we talked about a book that now has a sequel!
If you read Jupiter Pirates: Hunt for the Hydra, by Jason Fry, you'll be glad to know that the second book in the series, Curse of the Iris, is even better than the first! Things start out badly for Tycho Hashoone and his family. The Admiralty Court isn't in a hurry to give them the profits from the ship they recently captured, and they need money to keep the Shadow Comet flying. It might almost make it worth it to go after a cursed pirate treasure--the legendary cache of the Iris. But there are secrets about the Hashoone family buried with the treasure. Is Tycho ready to find out what they are?
There's even more intrigue, piracy, and close calls in this book, with new threats, tough decisions, and lots of chances for the Hashoone siblings to prove they can be worthy captains.
Just between us, Pirates, I have it on good authority that the third book is on the way, so you can look forward to more space pirate adventures!

Vadima's Visions: Make a Trip to Spend Some Scrip!
Hello again, Pirates. I have been gazing into my Crystal Ball to learn the secrets of this new currency I keep hearing you talk about . . . Scrips. As I understand it you earn these scrips from combat in the skyways. You exchange them to a certain squid in the back of the Bazaar for new items that can only be obtained this way? Devious!!
My crystal ball tells me that most of you seem to like these items:
1. The Cool Mint, Accessory
2. Skull Island Cabin Walls, Furniture
3. Folded Towels: Black and Red, Furniture
4. Folded Towels: White, Furniture
5. Folded Towels: Blue and Cyan, Furniture
Very interesting! I also see that not many of you have purchased the following room dividers:
Room Divider: Large Porthole
Room Divider: Swashbuckler Doorway
Room Divider: Privateer Bed
Room Divider: Single Bed
Don’t miss out on these exclusive housing items! They are very rare, indeed!
Behold another vision . . . a vision of . . . folded towels? How odd! They are listed here in order of popularity:
1. Folded Towels: Black and Red
2. Folded Towels: White
3. Folded Towels: Blue and Cyan
4. Folded Towels: Pink and White
5. Folded Towels: Black
6. Folded Towels: Red and Blue
7. Folded Towels: Purple and Orange
8. Folded Towels: Black and White
9. Folded Towels: Purple and Green
10. Folded Towels: Blue
11. Folded Towels: Yellow and Blue
12. Folded Towels: Brown and Tan
13. Folded Towels: Green
14. Folded Towels: Green and Orange
How intriguing . . . maybe it is just because Green and Orange are so hard to color coordinate.
The visions fade until next time, Pirates.
