How do you get your pets to follow you?

You can change your follower in the Options menu. More information can be found in the Player's Guide.

You know, there should be an option under the Follower thing so it goes: Firstmate->Pet->None->Both. I kinda liked the bug where you could sometimes have both your pet and firstmate follow you
