No offense, but I feel the KI went lazy on the Witchdoctors:
  • Not every vendor sells staffs/wands
  • Witchdoctors have no Witchdoctor Specific epics
  • There is no Critical Strike for Witchdoctors (to my knowledge)
  • Witchdoctors fizzle/miss too often
  • Witchdoctors can't learn accurate or dodgy
  • There are less than 10 witchdoctor companion
  • Witchdoctors use the weakest weapons
  • Witchdoctor minions are useless unless they can survive past the first round

No offense, but it seems like witchdoctors just ain't your class.

-Why bother with vender weapons? plenty of boss staffs and main quest staffs to carry you to lvl 50

-As explained in past post witchdoctors have alot of active talents there for epic talents wasn't giving thou you can farm Moo's wand which comes with Coward's Bane. As for witchdoctor companions they have enuff epics.

-I do have a pair of boots with crit strike on them farmed from Frair Sand.I don't prefer to use them since i have another pair of boots that have better stats

- Witchdoctors only miss when using normal attacks their skills which is the bread and butter of the class anyways never miss unless your refering to the WD companions there i agree they need a bit of a acc boost since they don't have alot of skills.

-Witchdoctors can learn acc/dge same as any other class unless your refering to companions and on that i forgot what they can learn since ive had mine maxed for sometime now.

-on WD companion amounts idc how many there are i use swash/buck companions so i can stay back and deal range.

-Again weapon dmg effects normal attacks more then skill dmg and by the time your level 50 you will have so many skills that you shouldn't ever have to use a normal attack unless your bored or in pvp.

-WD minions got a boost in health in the last update my lowest minion has 1600hp thats more then enuff to last a few rounds while my main companions and myself kill off the enemys.

None of that is true. Witchdoctors are very strong in my opinion. So what if there are less than 10 witchdoctor companions?

Witchdoctors also do not use the weakest weapons. Some good ones that come to mind are Phule's Wand and Moo Manchu's Wand.

My witchdoctor is currently maxed at level 50. My thoughts:

  • Not every vendor sells staffs/wands

Is there a reason they should? And WDs are one of the better classes in terms of what is currently available in the crown shop.

  • Witchdoctors have no Witchdoctor Specific epics
Mojo echo and cowardly something (extra spell when someone moves away from you).

  • There is no Critical Strike for Witchdoctors (to my knowledge)
There are. Every class has a chance of attacks going critical.

  • Witchdoctors fizzle/miss too often
That I can tell, no more so than any other class. Your WD may have a lower accuracy than other classes - look to acquiring jewelry etc. that boost accuracy (important for all classes in my opinion). Frankly, at higher levels I find in most battles I only use my "hard" spells, which cannot fizzle. I only rarely use my generic staff attack.

  • Witchdoctors can't learn accurate or dodgy
I am OK with that - those skills are better suited for melee specialists. I often have fights where my WD takes no damage because none of the enemy have made it to the back where she lurks.

  • There are less than 10 witchdoctor companion
Good! I don't like them nearly as well as melee companions, nor as well as musketeer companions.

  • Witchdoctors use the weakest weapons
They do a less damage, but they are area effect attacks, which makes them frequently do a lot more damage - just spread out among other targets. If they did multiple targets with the same damage spread as equivalent melee weapons and hit multiple targets, that would be too strong.

  • Witchdoctor minions are useless unless they can survive past the first round
Originally I don't think they "scaled up" as your WD went up levels, so they soon became far too weak to waste a turn casting them. My understanding is the latest update (last week) changed the minions and they now scale up as the WD progresses. But I have not played Brynn since the update so I cannot say if this change is working.

If you are really upset, restart the game and play as another class. Also, you wre complaining about weapons, just train in another weapons thing, e.g. stabby weapons (Swashbuckler) and get one of those. Hope this helps

Witchdoctors do have a critical strike, it just isn't cinematic compared the melee classes.

actual witchdoctors have nice crit strike cinematics.

The one where they fly into the air and spin the staff around them and fire off 3 balls of light is a crit strike moment. The one where they call down fireballs is a crit strike moment and my fav one. I think there might be one more but i can't think of it right off the top of my head atm.

An end-game witchdoctor rarely ever uses his or her weapon, you have nearly 2 pages of powers! What use is it to waste a turn simply attacking? Besides powers don't fizzle but attacks do, now that I think about it, why do we even bother carrying staffs?

There are plenty of staffs/wands. Not every vendor sells every possible weapon type.

There are witchdoctor specific epics but yes, witchdoctor pirates don't learn any of them naturally (without wearing a piece of gear that gives it). Imo though, it's not that important that they have it since again imo they are pretty strong as is.

Witchdcotors can critical on both their normal attacks and on their attacks that come from cards.

Yes, they do have low accuracy but I couldn't care less about that. My level 50 witchdoctor carries a staff but honestly I could unequip it completely or just equip any random weapon and I wouldn't notice the difference because I literally never use it. We have so many powers that are guaranteed hits that I see no reason to use my weapon and thus never notice my low accuracy.

True, but again, no biggie. Accuracy really isn't needed and honestly I haven't had trouble with my low dodge rate either because my pirate is always in the back and my companions take the hits.

Good. Like you said, witch doctors have low accuracy which is fine for a pirate but not so great for a companion since they do not have nearly as many powers to compensate for it. Witchdoctor companion's low accuracy makes them not top contenders for me so I don't really feel I want more.

Yes, weak weapons but tons strong guaranteed hit powers.

Yeah... well didn't they update that recently so the summons sort of scale with your level?

I am a level 50 Witchdoctor with 13 companions! I maxed out at level 50 before I finished Mooshoo so I am in a waiting pattern for more levels. My pirate is very strong although my companions do all the work before I lose health points.

Just started a swashbuckler not sure I like it but I want to try them all.

I read the update notes ahwil ago and see where I made mistakes, but here's my defense on the other things:
1) I do LOVE the witchdoctors, thats why I posted this
2) You know how Ratbeard or Louis LeBisque know Critical Srike 1,2,3, there is no gear where it gives Critical Strike that works with Staffy Weapons nor does any Witchdoctor companion know it
3) If every weapon vendor sells guns, axes and knives-why not staffs?
4) Sometimes, I like to finish off a dying ememy with my own hands, is there a problem with that?
5) I've counted, there is less than 10, 8 to be exact (Old Scratch, Mormo, Uga Buga, Nurse Quinn, Crab Hermit, Inoshishi Necromancer, Doctor Noh, and Chilam Bak)

2) Good question, it's alittle unfair to not have a critical card for witchdoctors
3) Staffs are made from magic to be use to channel magic, So it's probably harder to make them than the other weapons, thats my guess
4) No problem at all, and I agree with you on this one, why do we need fizzles?
5) We do need more WD companions, all i have on my buccaneer is Scratch , he's so lonely
