I know many people, including myself, would like to see some means of better managing companion characters. What if they could be assigned as crew to specific ships? Once you have multiple ships, you gain the ability (and appropriate tutorial) to crew your ships. So, you would only have access to the companions crewing your currently active ship - or if you have all your ships bottled, the ones unassigned to a ship. This would effectively let you "bank" unwanted companions, or to preset companion lineups - You want all your melee companions, unbottle your pirate skiff crewed by Ratbeard and the rest.
