my main mission is gone

I already try to go backto see el toro but he is still not there no matter how manny times I try to see him but hes nowhere to be found please help asap

Check your quest log, type "Q" your main quest will show as a chalice icon. You may have forgotten a step.

I havent miss a step its gone from the quest i tried to look for it over and over again but nothing happened so what now.
