Gold Boost Elixer

I purchased the Gold Boost Elixir (supposed to increase gold reward by 10%) while it was on sale. While it was working, I fought Chumba Wumba and got Gunn's Gold. When I retrieved Gunn's Gold, the game said I received 4000 pieces of Gold for finding Gunn's Gold (which is the normal amount). Since the Elixir was working, shouldn't I have received 4400 pieces of gold since I think 4000 is the reward for finding Gunn's gold?

The Gold Elixir boost only affects Gold earned from combat currently and not quest rewards; however, a change in the future is coming to include quest rewards as well.
