Obsidian and brass coin/ring is TERRIBLE

I just got the Obsidian and Brass Coin from Nightmare Count Brastillo. It gives the following stats:

+ 94 max Health.

I know, this is awful. There's also the Rings, which only give +10 Magic resist. Also awful. Please, oh please, can they be upgraded into something honorable like the Obsidian and Brass Amulet? The stats they give right now can be expected from things in Monquista.
