How to change your house

I've got the house from the Boochbeard bundle, and I accepted it in my gifts. Only trouble is that I can't figure out how to change from the ship cabin room I started with to the new one.

From what you've posted here, it sounds like perhaps you need to equip your house? If that's the case, press "B" to open your backpack and click the arrow on the top right hand side twice to go to your housing tab. Find your house and double click on it.
