i have a theory on where kingsisle got the name "marleybone" from

in london, theres a road called marylebone road.

mary-lebone

im guessing they took the name and modified it. but then they thought about the "bone" part in it. so they decided that marleybone would be a world full of dogs!

and thats how marleybone lives to this day

Marylebone is not just a street - at one time it was an entire neighborhood of London, like Limehouse or Whitechapel.

Punning it into a doggy name was the exact origin of the name.

Another old district of London - The Isle of Dogs. Hmmmmmmmmm
