Purple/Pink names

During your introduction into the first set of tunnels you're informed as to the colors above enemy heads.
Gray - lesser
Yellow- about the same
Red- tougher

So, when on the open "sea" LOL, I've noticed a lot of jellyfish, batacuda, etc with pink or purple names. You say pink, you say purple, I say "What does it mean?"
