About the dreadnaught..

My friends and I (plus about 10 other people) were all a bit confused about some aspects of the dreadnaught, specifically the respawn. Here's some questions I picked up around the area.
  • How long does it take for the DN to respawn?
  • If the DN is defeated in combat and fully boarded, will it appear in other realms, ready to attack or will we have to wait for respawn there too?
  • Can more than four people board the DN?
  • Why does the DN disappear completely when defeated?
Aaaand I think that's it. I'm sure these questions have been answered elsewhere and I just can't find them.

There are no answers, this update is completely lacking in explanations. I've been waiting over an hour for that DN to spawn, without luck.
It's a good concept, but if KI can't get it to spawn reliably, there are going to be many frustrated players and frustrated players are unhappy players, KI!

I'm honestly INCREDIBLY upset about this dungeon. I waited in a skyway in a windlane for the majority of my entire day, just waiting for it to spawn and appear. I tried everything, whether it was switching realms or constantly telling everyone to stay away from the spawn point. I have absolutely no clue why they couldn't just make the battle inside harder if it was too easy. At least it would've been better than this.

There needs to be a change to this immediately, cuz I'm really fed up right now.

It feels like the DN takes too long to spawn, and it's unfair currently because there is lots of people who want to challenge it. I think the respawning rate should be deleted, and have it up all times. They should also change it so only one group can board it at a time, so the moment they finish another group could join. In fact; why make it an open concept? It should be set up just like the Regatta

In both test realm and live, so many things went wrong that even though I've attempted to complete this thing three times, I haven't even been INSIDE the darn thing yet. There were at least 15 ships out in the skyway waiting for it to respawn. I was idling for only a few minutes but I can tell the frustration level is incredibly high.

I completely agree some sort of change needs to happen, most of all the respawn. I like winter goddess's idea of getting rid of respawn completely.

I recall actually saying something along the lines of making it a regatta type thing with a sigil just as winter goddess suggested when I was in the skyway that day. I'm all for that, I think it would be a great solution to this problem.

Even now that the respawn has been drastically increased, waiting a half an hour is still pretty unnecessary. I get where they were going with this, attempting to create a raid type of thing you see in other games, probably to attract those type of players. But I think what Kingsisle sometimes fails to realize is that they also have to appeal to the people that are ALREADY playing their game. I can guarantee that the majority of their players don't want this respawn at all, yet I bet they will keep it this way. One of the biggest criticisms about this company from most is that they don't listen to their players enough. I know most of us make tons of suggestions, report bugs, and critic things in the game on a daily basis, but almost nothing ever gets changed to accommodate those players. Did you see how many of us had to complain about Witch Hunter before anyone paid attention? And I don't even Pvp! I'm just kinda fed up with this system.

But I digress, getting off subject here. I do hope they make it a sigil as has been suggested. It would alleviate most of the problems that seem to stem from the Dreadnaught.

I am confused on where this dreadnaught is. Do I cruise the skull island skyways looking for it? Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

One-Eyed Jack said that an update was made on the morning of Oct. 8 to increase the re-spawn rate of the DN (see Officer's log). Hopefully, this will alleviate this particular problem.

I like the question about re-spawning in other realms. Hope you get an answer.

I'm not just quoting you, mainly everyone on this thread. As of now the only way to do the dreadnaught continuously and quickly is to have a friend stand on the dock. You can port to them and continue to do the dungeon, regardless of whether or not the dreadnaught has disappeared. That's all for now, Cheers!

Funny you should say that, given that I found this trick out yesterday! My friends and I did it about six times before running out of steam. I even got the Haywire Fencer's Set I wanted so badly!

Also, I have discovered that this is supposed to be a rare instance, so the spawn rate was actually very accurate if this was the case.

"Beware, beware, of this cheat Ratbeard is aware!" Enjoy it while ye can, mateys!
Yeah, my swash on my alternate account lucked into making a friend who was farming in this way. We ran it 3 times, and when I logged back on I discovered I was still on the dock of the DN, so I got to run it again.

I honestly don't know what kind of person enjoys waiting around for 30 minutes or more for a single fight. The gear is awesome, but not awesome enough to wait like that. If you could get a notification for when it spawns, then I'd see the appeal. You could do other things and then when it happens to pop up, you can go there and do the fight, but just sitting and waiting, with NOTHING to do? That's so boring.

Well unlike some people who sadly haven't done the DN, I have and I have to say its rather easy once you get to it. Now getting to it is in my opinion harder than doing smuggler's arena solo and thats saying something ( trust me I know Idid it solo but thats another story)! Now need some help, is it true that you don't attack scouts or is it just a myth? Because if it isn't just a myth then a possible reason why the DN doesn't spawn is that people keep killing the scouts. One person said she even wanted to make it go boom! Personaly i don't think its worth wasting a half a hour to do. Sure the new weapons are good, but if you want a good new lvl 70 weapon get one from the new pack. Its not uncommon for me to get at least one weapon every pack.

It's a myth so go ahead and fight the scouts for that nautical exp and scrip - it won't delay the DN's appearance, and you'll know the DN is getting near when escort ships appear.
I agree about the weapons in the pack - they're very nicely powered and good looking!

Thank you for telling me and now I feel like a fool xd. I also have to say sorry to the people I called max lvl noobs. Sorry people that I called a max lvl noob. Ok back on the DN the sword and dagger weapons have that haywire attack that has unpredictable effects, what does that mean? It wouldn't by chance make the enemy turn into a baby would it?

It's ok, I was also yelling at players who were attacking the scouts ( lovely how these rumors get started, and one player begins echoing another ). I haven't seen unpredictable effects in play yet, unless these effects are subtle and I'm missing them.

Someone on Central reported he's been stunned for one turn after using that power... maybe there are other effects, I dont know.

Certainly not worth using if you ask me, there is enough rng in a tactical game already.

That dreadnaught was a pain to spawn, for me as a player. Two weekends ago after a long wait, it finally spawn however it was full when i tired to enter or I was caught in ship battle and was boarded .

This dungeon likes to poke the fun out of my pirate characters, one moment it spawn suddenly and a fleet of ships of our fellow pirates races toward the dungeon to enter. For the most moment, it took a long time to spawn. I was reading a magazine, while waiting for the dreadnaught to spawn.

In other words the dreadnaught, spawn when you least expected it, to spawn.

Ok thanks for telling me I wasn't the only one. Now all I have to do is find the guy or girl that made me look like a fool (their name probably begins with unreliable), make them do pvp and get revenge ! If you find out about the new unpredictable effects please tell me, then again I could do it myself by using the haywire weapon I have. I will say this the only haywire weapon I would use for my privy is the staff. If I ever get my swashbuckler to lvl 70 then I'll use the dagger and gun combo weapon. Btw has anyone seen a weird glitch where a guy is using agility to boost weapon power with a strength based weapon? Because a guy had the stabby and shooty haywire weapon and was getting boost from agility even though it's a strength weapon.

Before the change to the dreadnaught, the respawn time was eight hours, as said on the Kingsisle livestream!

Stabby Shooty weapons boost from agility as this is the way both Swashbuckler's and Musketeer's weapons do damage; perhaps you mean a slashy smashy combo?

Oh that's not a glitch, there was always been many weapons that vary their boost stat according to the player's class and the ones released in this update pretty much work a LOT like that. For example, the Slashy/Smashy weapons that are shield types (such as Haywire Armada Halberd from DN or the Gargoyle Shield from Ashes pack) are Will based on my Privateer, though if I choose to move them to a Buccaneer it will change to Strength base.

It makes sense that combos melee/shooty are adaptable for Strength/Agility bases, allowing classes to pick which one they want to use according to stats without worrying it won't match their focus boost (because it will on either).

Well, I haven't tried to use any of the Haywire Strike weapons on my pirate... but I been watching some other players use them in addition to two of my companions who have it, so the unpredictable effects I have seen so far are:

  • Stuns at random:

A. Stun the user (player/companion)
B. Stun the target
C. Stun both user and target! lol
  • Additional damage:

Not quite sure how much 'cause haven't seen it much, basically after everything (the power's hit and all epic chains) some random non-animated damage is dealt to the target... noticed it happening mostly to my companions with Firstmate's Boon and dealing around 1200-1500 damage at once.
It could be some calculation based off Weapon Power, as I can't imagine a companion doing that much without such a buff.
To be honest, in my experience this extra hit pretty much always kills their target. lol
  • Haywire goes missing!

Okay, this might actually be a bug, though sometimes when I select ANY of the Haywire Armada companions powers, it doesn't go off... the companion does hit through pre-turn epics (like First Strike on target's Repel, etc) and kills the target without using the power but the following planning phrase that power is no available (even though it was never played in that fight).

Darn, so most liked no Haywire strike turns the enemy into a baby. Thanks for the info, been playing pirate101 for a while now and never knew that about the weapon thing. Also it looks like the haywire weapon could go well haywire, and by that I mean stun you or glitch. Wonder is KI knows about it
