PvP Guilds

I like the idea of PvP Guilds in Pirate101.

How it would work would be that in all guild member player houses the PvP sigils would be tied together for all of the members. No longer would houses be single PvP only sigils, and no longer would they be only unranked.

All one would have to do to sign up their team for a PvP guild match would be to stand on one side of an in house PvP sigil and que for a PvP guild match. When another guild has enough players to match, the match timer counts down to start the match.

To enable guild members to easier find and join guild matches, all the guild members online would receive a message that they can join, and all they have to do to join is click to sign up for the match wherever they may be (such an easy join button would have to be added).

Perhaps to enable matches to start faster, the number of players of say a 3 player to 4 player matchup could be compensated by giving the players on the short 3 player side an extra companion each.

With guilds, comes a guild leader board, and guild leader board rewards. I think reward enough would be to give the top guilds extra member benifits. Right now members get one benifit at a time and they cycle, but with guilds the top guild could have something like four member benefits at a time, and the second top three, and third top two.

-------------------------

Note: Even if guilds aren't added into the game. I still believe the PvP system of giving everyone four person PvP sigils in their homes to start ranked as well as unranked PvP matches would be a good idea.

Players like to show off their homes, and queing up together in ones home and waiting for a another team to match, just sounds kind of fun. Course, like in Wizard101 a PvP que area where one can see all the non-rated matches signed up waiting to play would also be appreciated.

------------------------

It is time for ranked 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 PvP to be added to the game. Non-ranked 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 are already in the game, so surely there isn't even a time consuming programming problem.

------------------------

1v1 should be treated as it is or reduced. Right now if you win a match you go up about the same amount of points as you would drop. 1v2 should be made to drop half as much, 1v3 one third as much, and 1v4 one forth as much (or contrarily award twice as much for 1v2, three times as much for 1v3, and four times as much for 1v4).

2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 shouldn't rely upon rank to match, so shouldn't 1v2, 1v3, 1v4 matches. It is okay for 1v1 matches to try and match rank up against rank. But for all the others it just takes too long.

-----------------------

Players should only be able to join one guild, which means that if they join a guild on one pirate all the pirates on their account also belong to that guild. Guilds would be seasonal, and one could leave a guild to join another guild.

A guild should be limited to a certain number of accounts, so maybe allow guilds to have 10 accounts tied to it. You need a number such as that as it isn't likely that all guild members will be online in the game at once, and even if they are not all of them will want to join a pvp match.

Guild PvP matches should include pirates of a high enough level, so if you aren't at least level 60 then you wouldn't be able to join, but you would still receive a message that such a match is in que so that if you want to switch over to another pirate to join the match you could (one reason why all pirates on an account should belong to the same guild).

------------------------

For guild ratings, a win of a 1v1 match should award 1 point, a win of a 2v2 match 4 points, a win of a 3v3 match 9 points, and a win of a 4v4 match 16 points. So basically you multiply the number of players on each side together for how many points would be allotted for the win. No points should be subtracted for a loss.

Seasons would reset the same as for rated non-guild PvP.

----------------------

Guilds can pick their own name. This means, like everything else that has a chosen name in the game, Pirate101 would give a list of acceptable names. When one name is taken, its taken for the season.

Guilds may require player codes to join, or be set to open join. The person making a guild would set that option. One must have a level appropriate Pirate to create a guild with (so at least level 60).

Upon further thought, instead of having guild seasons, it would be better to have only matches played in the latest week's time count as guild points in determining guild ranks. This means that unless a guild has members constantly engaging in guild PvP their guild will be falling out of the ratings after seven day's time giving other guilds a chance to be at the top. There is no need for guild seasons to match PvP seasons, nor is there a need for there to even be guild seasons.

A constant 168 hour count could see a lot of flips between who gets the most member benefit awards, and I believe that is enough to encourage everyone to fight and keep fighting for them.

Please make guilds happen. It would bring a lot of players closer together, as well as create rivalries to make things far more interesting and exciting.

Hmm...exclusion of players and more nasty "smack talk", yep just what P101 needs. There are already unofficial PVP clans.

A whole lot of people who just came back to the game cited their reason for wanting to play it again was PvP. About smack talk, that is already in the game, only thing guilds would do would be to make it more interesting.

"Smack talk" is never interesting.

All pirates on an account would belong to the same guild when one joins a guild, and one can't have pirates on the same account in multiple guilds. This helps to reduce cheating and sabotage, but also makes it nice in terms of being able to switch pirates and still having all your guild friends tied to your account. You can choose to leave a guild.

There would be a guild members list of members. This means if you were to create a new pirate while already belonging to a guild, your pirate would be listed in the guilds list and would have all the guild members as member friends without having to add them. This makes chatting and doing stuff with one another rather simple, as no longer do you have to try and add everyone back on your list. A guild's member tab would therefore need to be programmed into the game.

Every guild should have their own guild house headquarters, and it should be like a ship port with many dockside housing units, or a small city. The reason for this, is that every guild member should have their own house in their guild house, with their own personal flag in front of or flying over their home. This means that if others want to visit their home when they aren't online, they could. It also means if someone has smuggler's arena in their home others could raid their home to use it.

A guild's housing area, should be able to have smuggler's arena, and other mini dungeons be able to be added into it. I think it would be nice if all guild members could add in furnishings and move them around, but when it comes to smuggler's arena and mini-dungeons and taking items out of or destroying items in a guild's house, only the guild master should be able to remove those items, though even then I favor the arena and mini-dungeons to be non-removable from a guild's house. A guild therefore could have its own bank, but only housing items should be allowed to be in it.

PvP guild ranks, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd should have their guild flag flown over various places in the game, such as over the PvP areas, where the guild in first place should have the highest flying flag, 2nd second highest, and 3rd the third highest. This would mean that whenever you pass through town, you would instantly see the rank order.

All guild points should have a one week cut off in terms of counting. This means that in order for your guild to hold its rank, it does have to be active, cause no matter how many points a guild racks up, its points will be at zero after a week's time unless they continue to get points. This also means that guild flags could well be shifting order quite often.

A guild housing area will have to be bought, but guild member houses in it will not. So if you want to create your own guild, you will have to buy a guild housing area. As to the member houses, whatever house they have selected on each of their pirates will be in the guild housing area, same as whatever ship. This does create a community feel, as as well as a potential boat show. Its also fun to be able to go in and view the homes and cabins of others.

Every guild housing area should come with PvP arenas. There should be a 4v4 area that guild members can use for non-ranked fights. Plus a ranked 4v4 arena. Plus an arena with just 4 sigils on one side and none on the other, and that one will allow members to step onto it and be paired up against another guild at random who also is queued. So technically there should be four of those one sided sigils in a guild's housing area, a one person one sided sigil, a two person one sided sigil, a three person one sided sigil, and a four person one sided sigil.

I still like the idea of rewarding the top three placed guilds with extra member benefits, especially since those benefits in no way affects game play, but merely do things like give free miracle mitch heals, x2 pet training, x2 company returns, free resets, free second chance chests, that sort of stuff.
