Heavy weapons

I Finally received the axe while farming the tower of moo manchu, even though I am still farming for the knives I am wondering if as a Swashbuckler, using a heavy weapon decreases your dodge.

i'm a level 65 swashbuckler, and for the past 10 levels, i have been using the dragoon great sword, also a heavy weapon. when you use heavy weapons, you block, and when you use knives, you dodge, but both abilities come from your dodge statistic. if you think about it logically, yes technically a heavy weapon should decrease your dodge, but if you switch between knives and a heavy weapon, you wont see your dodge stat changing in your character statistics.
