Predictions for the game

So here are my predictions for the game

In the Summer of this year (2017) We will get a small update, nothing big, just a few changes and bug fixes

In around August we will finally get Polaris and a level cap increase to 80. That Hydra glitch will finally get fixed and so will the meteorite glitch (Playing the female voice clips on the witchdoctor's meteorite crit regardless of gender) and new promotions!

In early-mid of next year we will get 2 new worlds, There's no telling which, but the level cap will go up to 95.

I have high hopes for this year and next year. I don't want to sound impatient but I hope we won't have to wait another 3 years for a storyline update (I can handle the wait)

Well, I'd be so happy if your predictions came true!! Sailing to Polaris would be very "cool."

I wish all that would happen in such a short amount of time, but it doesn't really sound that realistic. That would be totally awesome, but I don't think KingsIsle will be doing that any time soon.

Still, though, let's hope you're right!

I hope that this comes true, but don't be disappointed if it doesn't happen. It's already been 3 years since VA2 was released.

I really hope your right but that's a tall order to expect especially after the attention that Pirate has not been getting for the last couple of years. It is a great and fun game, I do wish Kings Isle would do more with this great thing they started.

Sad thing about this is that the game has been laid stagnant for roughly 5 years now; I mean after Kane's defeat there went the lackluster. Team kiosks are great, ship PVP fine... Daily quests... Same old quests without really any reward for them .. more gold and nothing to spend it on... Wizard has been getting sloppy too but I miss being in this version of the spiral as at least the combat and the companions are the only real things to keep me going. Friends are one thing but honestly I am debating whether or not they need to take a lesson from storytelling from Square Enix and start adapting new classes as new worlds come out... I mean Cool ranch should of introduced a Spell Slinger class that may take musketeer's skills but adds to it more crowd control through privateer and Witchdoctor talents... I would love to see a class or classes actually be given thought and depth within the spiral... Everyday it draws smaller... Yet we sit here in these forums praying that our faith pays off... I have faith in KI and i love what they do .. but 9.95 or even 6.95 when coupled with wizard isn't doing it anymore... Bundles are great for that quick fix .. MMORPGs are slowly dying and only the strong survive. I really hope KI actually does something rather than attend to the children who play this ... The adults here need love too from both fronts... Pirate is unique and its creative but what more can I say other than that only lasts through your first character. I refuse to make more because in the end its the same people begging for crowns or the same dungeons to be ran over and over hoping for a .001% drop. At least in other games there are Casinos and ways to celebrate your game in different ways.. KI is great in price but at the moment does one truly have to sacrifice their game just to have others listen... This is just an input from an old beta player despite the joining date.

I think what they are doing is trying to build up side content first, while bringing in game sustaining small things like new packs, mounts, pets, etc, so that when new people join, there will be more for them to do and explore, other than main story content. It might slow the pace of using up game content, and give them more to do when when they max out and their quests are done. I've noticed there seem to be more players around lately, who aren't maxed out. In summer, when school is out, a lot of kids return to play. I am reminded that some of them have to proceed at a slower pace, because they might be buying areas with crowns slowly, or only have a month's membership with a gift card, or have to stop playing when school starts. Maybe KI is pacing development with that in mind. I do agree that a new world seems to be due soon. Maybe KI is keeping an eye on how many players are getting maxed out for the timing on that, and we haven't reached that tipping point yet. How's that for a reason to help lower level players with quests? I really do hope they are working on that new world, whatever it may be, and that we all get to be impressed by it.

Something tells me the only reason Kingsisle would look at those statistics is if someone asked that question for a Ki Live. I think Kingsisle is simply more focused with whatever update is in the works and with the 10th anniversary of Wizard 101.

I would think that their business department would be interested in the numbers, if they indicate a big drop off in players and members (customers) is on the way. If the players drift away due to lack of new content, there are so many other entertainment options out there to grab them and their money. I would think they have some idea of the average players' habits and purchasing, and might be able to predict when drops might be due to happen.

Summer is a peak time for a lot of players, some of whom might be on a slower questing track. If they are near to finishing the game too, maybe KI will see that as the time for an expansion. I noticed on the forums a number of people mentioning their goal to finish main quests and max their pirates this summer.

The year round members that help sustain the game are getting annoyed at the long wait for a world update, and wondering if there will be one. I understand that new worlds take time and money to produce, just as readers need to wait for their favorite authors to write and publish a new book. On the other hand, 5 years of reading even a book you love over again gets stale. I hope you are right and they are focused on a good update.

They confirmed an update, we just don't know what will be in it.

However, I seriously doubt it will be a new world.

It's been 3 years since VA2 and that was just a world expansion - have hope, Dino, a new world is possible. Even if it's "just" side content, I'll be happy.

I hope it is so. I was just wondering about the way that VA2 expansion ended, as relates to the El Dorado map pieces, and if it signaled a big change in how they were planning to run the game. Wiz developed with world expansions and the Malistaire plot, then they seemed to add a lot of side content, with new worlds mixed in. Pirate seemed to start that way too with some tweaks along the way to our battles and attacks, but seems to focus on building some side activities and a lot of packs and mounts lately. Since they did seem to take a left turn on the direction the story was headed, maybe they had to scrap some of the work that had been done. Initially, Cool Ranch was planned and developed as a Wizard questing area. It was shifted over to Pirate during development. I kind of wonder if there was a case where a pirate area was poached back to Wizard in return. How many new worlds has Wizard gotten since VA2 went live? Maybe it's just that Wizard has a much bigger programming crew than Pirate?

You've probably already read this at some point, but https://www.pirate101.com/forum/blind-mews-musings/well-i-asked-for-it-blind-mews-musings-return-8ad6a4145554b4820155786ce4297d28?page=1 is a post by blind mew detailing the original plot for books 15-20. There was definitely cut content, but the lack of resources and funding just wouldn't allow for it to become a reality.

They've had one world since VA2 went live and that's Empyrea, they released Mirage just before we got our expansion.
But they also had at least 6 new packs and 3 or 4 new bundles. I admit being very tired of seeing wizards get more of what we desperately need.
I believe they gave us Cool Ranch and took Polaris in exchange.
KI combined the teams after that massive down-sizing about 3 years ago. In Blind Mew's post called "Where's Book 15" he goes into some depth of how KI games are developed.

I'd been wondering that myself, whether Polaris was supposed to be in Pirate101, because with the story line, I was sure we were going to head there. After Wiz got Polaris, I guess with them getting Empyrea, and us getting a tide-us-over second half of Valencia, I thought Pirate would be getting another new world next. Then Wiz, got Mirage and I was shocked.
I love the stories on both games and the interactions with other players, but the game play on Pirate is a bit more complex and fun for me.

We do still have the Stormgate To Polaris which is currently not turned on in Valencia Part 2.

I thoroughly enjoy this game. It has given me all the best that a mix of old D&D Spelljammer and Shining Force could possibly offer and I have loved every turn in combat and every ship battle. Now I just want more of it to play! As much as I would also love another massive world and story expansion, that still may be down the road somewhere. It won't take anything quite so massive to keep me playing though.

Ship PVP. I'm not much of a PVP player, but any excuse to get a new ship and hunt for new ship equipment for it is one I'll take.

Fishing could be an amazing addition. Aside from the fish themselves, there could be treasure maps, new ships in bottles to "catch" and the occasional sky monster that would then pull you into combat so we kind find out what new and unique loot it might have swallowed!

Just the chance that I might commandeer a defeated enemy's ship once they're defeated would get me back out in the skyways fighting something other than the Pretender (Stheno still eludes me).

Putting some more stuff to discover in the spaces between worlds would also get me exploring every colored cloud out there just to see what might be there.

I'll keep playing it as long as there's a game to be played, and I'm eager to see what happens this year!

Play on then, because we have ship PVP! Falmea just had her weekly thread about fishing ideas, so it sounds like fishing is being considered. It would be cool to have an activity involving treasure maps. The sky monster who swallowed unique loot is a great idea. Hmm, drifting ships-in-a-bottle. What if there was one drifting through the skyways and between the stormgates. If it is found and collected, KI would toss another into the game elsewhere to drift until it is found. Imagine the challenge hunt that would be, and no one could tell you where to find the next one. It could even be a crown shop or holiday ship. The pelican town crier could let us know, or perhaps Mew would tell us the rumor about it drifting, if we pay a suitable fee.

I can only hope that these aspirations do not go the way of the dodo... However I want to see this revived and make it so we can enjoy ourselves again... I don't want to resort to going back to ragnarok ….
