T.V commercial suggestions

Post here your ideas for what kind of T.V. commercials for Kingsisle games you want to see made.

I would want to see a commercial for either game animated in 2D, in a style resembling an action-based 80's cartoon, such as Thundercats.

Wouldn't that give a wrong impression as to Pirate101's format?

I think they should have some of the dialogue between Bonnie Anne and Ratbeard, Monkey King and El Toro. Let's face it, a huge draw for Pirate101 players is the crew. They should be highlighted in commercials.

A quick 30 second video is all

It will feature the main storyline crew ie. Ratbeard

Everyone in the crew including the pirate captain will dashing around on an enemy ship, swinging weapons, opening fire and rigging hoodoo.

Then during the chaos when all seems lost a cannonball appears out of nowhere and it is your friend (another pirate captain) to encourage the MMO side of the game

With the aid of your friend assisting you from his own ship, you quickly dispatch your opponents, your crew rapidly loot a pile of gold hidden away in the ships cabins then it would kinda just cue the outro showing the game company and game logo

I think this would be amazing to watch using the same art style as the previous P101 commercial

What if they made 5 short commercials and each one focused on a different class.(sort of like what Team Fortress 2 did on their release)

For example, the swashbuckler one could be the pirate fighting a bunch of dogs, outnumbered, but then he disappears in a cloud of smoke and a rose falls to the ground. One of the dogs picks it up and smells it and dies from the poison, then the buckler reappears behind them with a knife pointed at one of their backs, and just before he stabs it cuts off.

This is just and idea but I think it could work,IMO the 2013 commercial didn't do that good of a job telling what each class was about.

What KI could use, is some international advertising.
Really, it's more than just Americans that play Wizard101 and Pirate101, there are players from Canada, Australia, Europe, everywhere. But no advertising in those countries. The only bare advertising that exists is just the cards for sale in certain stores.

Sure, we see the occasional add online on other game sites, but nothing on TV, or other media. KI has been ignoring a large section of the player base for years.

I'd LOVE to see all the main class companions (Sarah Steele, Mormo, etc.) arguing which is the best class with some battle clips of each class. Not only would it be cool and hilarious but it could draw people to try the classes thus getting them in the game!

1. the dog shouldn't die, but pass out ( remember KI is family friendly and no one dies on this game [ except clockworks ] )
2. having the buckler reappear behind the enemy is fine, no need to show the dagger.

I wouldn't know how things are internationally of course, but commercials are pretty scarce in the US to. I suppose that's what this whole thread is about, brainstorming new commercial ideas, but I (and I'm pretty sure everyone else too) haven't seen a Pirate101 commercial in years and Wizard101 advertisement is relatively hard to come by too. KI really needs to step up there advertising game, after all, if the only place you can see Pirate101 commercials is on their own site, really what's the point.

In Australia the only advertising I have been exposed to are the Wizard101 Game Cards which are actually not all that uncommon, unfortunately Pirate101 cards can only be found in EB Games (Store which specialises in games) and even then, I had passed by an EB Games one day and decided to see if they had any to which they said they had none.

It could be like how it was when they were arguing with Ratbeard about the Will, but instead, it could be with each other arguing about the classes!

That's exactly what I'm referring to. Here in Canada the only advertisment are the game cards sold at EB games and Shoppers Drug Mart, located on a wall, behind the counter that's covered with so many gift cards and game cards that your eyes just slide right over them, unless you're looking for something specific.

We could use a TV spot, or even a radio spot.

Bottom line is that pretty much every game I have ever played or have really heard/known of-- whether MMO, console game, computer game, mobile game-- has had a line of commercials, advertisements and or marketing/promoting events/tools (outside of just social media) to help introduce, and/or spread the word, about the game. Not just one commercial throughout the course of a few years.

Yep, pretty much every game except for one....

...unfortunately it's the one game that we players here on the Message Boards are most concerned with. And it's a shame because P101 has so much Ad/Commercial appeal and potential. It caters to and offers so much to so many age groups, and brands of people, and most importantly to family fun and togetherness. Many families watch family and kid-friendly shows/movies/programs together-- yes, even in this modern, technological, social age).

Kind of hard to know a great game exists if you never have proof of it's existence. Social media promoting is great...but it's meant more for those that already know about the game and are already on board. Still more could be done to enlightening those don't really know it's even out there.

A well-placed/timed ad/commercial/promotion here and there just may help spread the joy that so many of us have come to know as...P101. It may cost something...but it just may also gain a bit more. That is if it's in the interests of the business owners to keep producing the product....

Personally, I reckon that new commercials should either showcase the gameplay in the lvl 55+ worlds, or be in the form of one of the game's puppet shows because honestly, that's where the greatest laughs are to be found (for me personally).

Also, don't forget to do the like/share/post thing of social media. Yes, what Valkoor says about social media being for those already in the know is true to a degree, however my introduction to Kingsisle came in the form of my brother showing me a banner flashing on the side of his facebook wall years ago advertising W101, so it can be used to gather new recruits that won't know what hit 'em! Just like KI's pages, find a video commercial on there, and like/share it/re-post it on your own wall for everyone else to see.

That and word of mouth does wonders, especially when you can show off your max level pirate mowing down the enemy without mercy!
