Recently I have discovered that Flotsam is actually a word! The word means debris or floating wreckage of a ship or it's cargo. Which makes PERFECT SENSE considering the entire town of Flotsam is all destroyed and of course floating.
Mind blown!

Yup, Flotsam and Jetsam has actually become a bit of a saying in some parts of the world.
Flotsam is debris from man-made objects, Jetsam is debris from natural origins. The floating remains of a ship, destroyed house etc is Flotsam, floating tree branches, plants etc are Jetsam.
