why is pirate101 called pirate101?

Because KI first game is called Wizard101 and that refers to the U.S. tradition of calling entry level college courses - "Subject"101.

It's a play on college course numbers. When a course is seen as an introduction to a subject it usually has a number designation 101. So it would for us be an introduction to piracy.

Yes, Pirate101 is off of courses. Math 101, History 101, etc. But the only thing I don't get is why Pirate101 is all in one word, unlike college courses ([Subject Here], Space, 101).
